Hilltop Country House is one of those destinations that only a lucky few photographers get to photograph. With it being where Laura Trott and her husband wed last year it has seen some incredible weddings. It was therefore a daunting yet exciting moment when Marianne & James invited me to capture their special day.
Marianne & James are a couple who have done and seen a lot together, and yet their love is still sweet, innocent and joyful. Having travelled the world they ended up living in London, but with family and friends still living up north they decided Hilltop Country House was for them, and you can see why! A stunning old building which sits within beautifully managed gardens where nobody in a miles radius can hear the raucous of the big day, and as you can guess ( On a Hilltop )
Their relaxed approach to life could be seen throughout their wedding, from croquet within the grounds to champagne & canapés on the lawn. Not forgetting giant Jenga for the children (Adults mainly). It was a wedding which everybody thoroughly enjoyed, matched by the love which these two have for each other.
It absolutely flew by and my second photographer and I had a lot of fun snapping away with you, getting to know your family and friends in the process. Your gentile nature and "joyeux de vivre" is contagious. It makes our life a whole lot easier when couples are up for anything, and these two optimise that.
My parting memory, (apart from the Greek Money dance) was what you had in the bottom of your Prosecco glasses. Hibiscus Tea Flowers. Different, but delightful. Which, in a small way, sums you up when you're together.
I know you are both in it for the long term, and I wish you continued happiness filled full of adventure in the years to come.
Love to you both.
Jack.
